Reflections

On my walk today I took this photo.  Nice to have warmish temperatures.

The Triangle Centre corner

Taken from some height, you can see the vast space left now that the Triangle Centre is gone. They are busy digging still, going down below foundation level.

Blackadder Legs

These are my prized possession, my over-the-knee spanish boots.  They are so warm, comfortable and in the miserable weather the best thing since sliced bread.  They also show off my best asset - my legs.  As Nana said to me once, "if you've got 'em, flaunt em".  Cheers Nana, you are so right.

Wintry Walk

I forced myself to go for a walk today, it was bleak, and very cold.  My photo of the day reflects the atmosphere, even though I "warmed" it up with an instagram filter!

Crusaders!

The Crusaders won tonight... here's today's photo from the game

Tunnel Vision

The container tunnel I walk through daily has electricity.  It's a kind of cool view from one end to the other.

Yay!

That was my reaction when I saw this.... these guys (Gap Filler) are doing some great stuff!!

Can't wait to see what goes in.

Dusk drill

Okay, I know it's probably not called a drill, but it's definitely impressive! I was on my way to yoga thinking, oh no, I've not taken a shot of anything today and this was along the road I normally park on.  It's working in works along the Heathcote river.

Cashel Street Update

Two sides of Cashel Street

Looking east, at the crossing side with the Westpac building demo slowly moving along, and then west at some new colourful seating in by the new containers in the north-west precinct.

Weird & Wonderful Nature

I've neglected the garden so far this winter, but with the lovely day today I got out and did some weeding and some pruning... and noticed this plant - which I think is a Winter Daisy? (inherited garden).  I've never noticed them at this stage before!

It does look and feel like cotton wool!  Isn't nature just weird and wonderful?

Quick & Healthy

I'm on a health kick at the moment... well it's going to be a  permanent change but it's still kind of new so a struggle at times. So tonight when I'm tired and feeling a bit off colour, and want to just have something basic for tea but don't want to cook... thank goodness for the good old CupASoup.  Can't go past it!

Up Close & Personal

It was cold this morning, so I had a visitor who plopped herself as close to my face as she could.  I did wonder whether it would be plausible to phone in to my boss and say "sorry, can't come in, the cat won't let me out of bed"...  Somehow I didn't think that excuse would cut it.

Goodbye to the Dust Catcher

The last facade of the Triangle Centre is gone - our maintenance guy reckons it was a "dust catcher" while they brought down the surrounding buildings.

Taken from the Corner of Colombo & Cashel Mall, West side, looking at the BNZ Building, the Millennium Hotel, National Mutual Arcade - you can even see the Body Shop in High street.  A big wide open space.

Tree Face

Ok, it's my warped mind, but I reckon this tree trunk looks like a squashed up face... so much texture to it.  I swear I haven't been taking drugs :-)

Where's Me Jumper?

For some god-unknown reason, the song "Where's Me Jumper" (The Sultans of Ping FC) leapt into my head when I took this photo.... but I think the lyrics need to change... to where's me head, me leg ... where's me shop?

Friday drop

Sorry, it's not been a great week for the photos.  Busy week and so cold for photos after work.  But it's now Friday night, so sit back, relax, and enjoy a wee drop of something...

And, a toast, to mum and dad.  It is their 55th wedding anniversary today.  Unfortunately they're not here with us anymore to raise a toast, but their marriage and life is definitely worth a toast.

Something Shiny!

I was drawn to these earrings for a wee treat as they were lovely and silvery!
... Maybe there's a magpie in me somewhere (this, the girl who is terrified of and dislikes birds!)

Kind of 80s in style too...

Road Blocks

These circular road-side planter blocks have been put in all down Colombo Street.  I'm not quite sure why...

A bit of colour come spring, perhaps.
