Wow - what a red sky tonight, and this is the reflection from the upstairs storey of the Drawing Room building on the corner of Manchester St & St Asaph St tonight.

Digger Inside!
Well, the real demolition of the Triangle Centre began in earnest today, this machine was clawing at the window of Stuart Dawson when I went to work... by the time I left today, there is no wall for Stewart Dawson and it's now making a cave of Marbecks...
I still marvel at the way these buildings are being demolished from the "inside-out"! Sorry about the clarity - had to take the photo through the "viewing" window at the end of Re:Start Cashel Mall and it's a bit dusty and dirty now!

Stormy City Skyline
Three photos tonight, to make up for missing a couple! Tonight it's the skyline from Cashel Mall - in particular the Clarendon being taken down, and the pink tinged clouds over the pink Ibis building.
The southerly has arrived!

Lucky Friday!
Went to a quiz tonight... won the "lucky chair"(whittakers coconut slab!), we won a round prize (another coconut slab for each of us!) and also our team came 2nd overall, behind the winners by 3 measly points. Teams get to go up and pick their prizes... I picked a prize in my favourite colour... lime green!
A fun night!

Survivor!
Not all old brick buildings in Chch are on the demo list... this one houses a couple of businesses in St Asaph St, and has stood up very well - only that little bit of wood at the top on the whole thing, and business trading inside. 1865... that's heritage!

Healthy Takeout!
I often get takeout on a Tuesday as I go to yoga, so it needs to be something healthy. I've found a wonderful place, thanks to my friend Izzy, which does Moroccan - so here's grilled chicken with 3 salads (greek, lebanese couscous and roast veges) and tzatziki.... mmmm and enough for tomorrow's lunch as well.
Small pleasures.

Music wasteland
I never noticed this when we had shops all along Colombo St - the base of the old Begg's Music store. I guess we took a lot for granted when we had a city.
The store has relocated to the South City Centre ... the keyboard looking a little dusty.

Ah, Sweet Rose
Mum loved her roses, and although I'm not the gardener she was, I do love the ones I have too - particularly when you get such a perfect bud like this one...

I Haven't Killed It!
You may recall the peace lily I bought at the Ellerslie Flower Show Plant Sell-Off, which was looking rather crook.... well, it's still alive! Some new leaves even!

Signing off...
Westpac tower soft-stripping must be pretty complete - they've started on the top now, with the big W signs coming off today.
Yesterday's photo
I did take this yesterday but never managed to get it posted. Lights are on... nobody's home. An unusual sight in Christchurch, a central city building with lights on - probably to help the workers soft-stripping as that sky was black yesterday afternoon!

Shepherd's Warning
Sunday morning, early rise... got to see this beautiful sky... even if it's the bearer of gloom
Red Sky in the Morning, Shepherd's Warning.

A B&W water shot
I've got a cold, so don't feel up to wandering around to find a subject, so tonight I've been playing with the settings on my camera.

Tatie for a reason
www.tatiemac.blogspot.com is named after my cat Tatie. Which is short for Potato. And if you wonder why...

The Sound of the City
A "moving" picture tonight ... actually, it's more for you to listen to. The sound of a city - no traffic, just deconstruction sounds...

Things to love about Chch #5
Guess what I did today? Watched THE CRUSADERS!
I would say, whether they are a top priority for people in Chch or not, these guys are something we, as a community, love.
It was a low scoring game, but so good to be at a day game back at home!!!! We'll take the win.

Nature's diamonds
It's a grey dismal drizzly day today, but I looked out my window this morning. This spider web was glistening with raindrops and reminded me about how nature makes even a boring thing like rain beautiful.

The sign of a good 'chippy'
Is a packed 'chippy'. My local was full to overflowing tonight... worth the wait in queue. One of these days I'll be organised and phone an order in!

That moment of bliss...
When you come home to a clean, tidy house and know you can just curl up with a magazine and a cuppa.

The changing skyscape
Well, it's nearly gone... the HGC barely visible (middle of shot) from the corner of Tuam and Colombo St. In fact it is invisible from St Asaph St now. You can see the soft stripping and work that has begun on Westpac in the setting sun tonight.

Time is Ticking...!
The 1st of May already! I can't start May without a photo, or it's not a good start, but after a very long day and home when it's dark and fr-fr-freezing outside, this will just have to do!
Time is ticking... and we're 1/3 through the year.
