I don't think a party lifted this roof! The deconstruction of the BNZ is starting to take shape.

Things to Love About Chch #4
Taken last night, so a bonus shot... I went to the Court Theatre. One of our little gems. The new theatre is great.

We Will Remember Them
A frosty cold morning in Christchurch, dawn. The Temporary Centotaph adorned with individual poppies being left after the Dawn Service.

A rusting shed
Picking up tickets at the Court Theatre today, I got to see some old hidden buildings. This one was "rustic".

Bonjour Tout le Monde!
I just spent a fabulous day in Sunny Akaroa, wandering the boulevard and attending the Harvest Market. Along the main street at one of the Backpackers I found this hilarious sight.... bungy-jumping dolls!

What A Difference A Day Makes
This is yesterday's building again, at the end of another day's demo work today (actually they were still going at 5.15pm) - can't believe how much has come down today. If only the rest of the demo's could go this quick, we'd be rebuilding in no time!!

Another One Bites The Dust
Or is causing a lot of dust, today, in town. As the demo in Hereford Street catches everyone's eye in the warm weather today.
Remember the building that looked like the top was being lifted off it back in March ("Perceptions")? This is where it's at now. Water spouts at the top of the digger were used to keep the dust levels down. Taken from Lichfield St.

Reach Out and Touch Somebody
Apologies to Caitlin, my photographer niece for the idea (this is not as good as her lion's paw). Sometimes, you just need to reach out for love...

Le Que?
Or as the aussies say, "what the?"
I'm confused. I went to a Japanese restaurant (beautiful food), based in a complex that has a "british" link (one of the first four ships...) and a french beauty salon attached.... and a very european looking pond!

Escaped Giraffe!
Thanks to my friend BUG for pointing out this to me. Someone has gone to great detail (lost a little on iPod shot today) with the markings of this giraffe. It's more "art" than "graffiti" on this particular wall.

A lonely tree
Hard to believe this photo is taken from the corner of Tuam St & Colombo St - the tree is beside the bus exchange (what's left of it) on Lichfield Street - straight open vista now.

A helping hand...
I picked up my knitting tonight for the first time since winter, while I watched a movie. A simple pattern that shouldn't have taken this long! I had help tonight though. Sort of.

Happy Easter
Two of the symbols of Easter - a candle and an egg. Light and life.
Happy Easter everyone, wherever you are and whatever your beliefs.

Drain spotting
Sometimes a simple splash of colour in the most unexpected spot looks beautiful. These flowers sprouting up near a lamppost and a drain makes a difference to the overall vista.

Mmmm!
Thursday night, long weekend about to start. Home-made Thai Green Curry - and look how clean my kitchen is. Even I'm impressed!

Mighty Big Carrot
I have been quite proud of my carrot crop, only a few did get tangled and forked. This one however, just grew very big. The pump bottle is to give some perspective on size. It's going to be grated up and combined with cashews, apple and potato to make carrot & cashew nut soup... Probably for Good Friday's lunch!

Those magnificent men
...in their flying machines!?
Or flying platforms. Not a job for someone who suffers from vertigo!
Suspended by crane, above the not so big HGC.
